NYX High Voltage Lipstick - Review

The last time I stopped by Ulta to pick up one thing from NYX, everything was buy one get one 50% off, so naturally that meant I had to get 3 lipsticks.  I was excited to try the relatively new High Voltage lipsticks.

L to R: Sweet 16, Privileged, Rock Star

Although I'm generally not a fan of the clear plastic lid, it usually feels a bit cheap.  That being said I do like that it is easy to see exactly what color the lipstick is, and the quality of the lipstick more than makes up for packaging.  Also I realized that when I got home, I accidentally picked up the tester for the shade Rock Star.  Luckily it was never opened, so it was perfectly fine, but it does annoy me a little bit that it has tester printed on the front.

Sweet 16:  This shade is a beautiful neutral pink shade.  This is a great everyday color that would go with pretty much any makeup look.

Privileged: This color is bright pink.  It looks very bright and neon in the tube, but once applied to the lips it is a bit more muted and wearable.  I'm sure if it was paired with a brighter lip pencil or lip gloss, it could be more intense.

Rock Star: This shade is a gorgeous red.  I don't typically go for red shades, but this true red color is really growing on me.

Overall, I really like these lipsticks, and the next time there is a sale I might need to pick a couple more (or all the remaining shades).  They are very creamy and smooth, plus they last a long time!  And for the price these lipsticks are a steal!
