Stila Mind Palette - Review

I have been lusting over of the new Stila Eyes Are The Window palettes.  Not only is the gold packaging beautiful, but the quality of the shadows is just amazing.  Every time I swatched these in Ulta and Sephora I came up with a million reasons why I needed each one, but never actually caved and spent the $49.  Although each of the four palettes have some unique colors and could easily fit right into my collection, I decided to splurge and get the Mind palette.

I chose the Mind palette because all 12 shades are a matte finish, which is pretty hard to come by.  I also loved some of the more non traditional colors that are included in this palette, there is a great blend of cool and warm tones.  This palette can be used alone to create gorgeous matte eye looks from dramatic to basic, but it also works wonderfully when mixed and matched with other metallic or shimmery shadows.

Can we just take a minute and appreciate the names of these colors.  I think they are so fun and inspiring!

All of the shades are very smooth, silky, and blend so nicely.  The lighter colors barely show up in the swatches, but they are perfect bases to apply from the lid to brow bone.  If you have a darker skin tone these will be great matte highlight colors.  My only complaint is that the black shade, 'Reason'.  I thought it was going to be a bit more pigmented and darker, but it needs to be built up a bit to get more color payoff.  This clearly was not a deal breaker for me, since I have plenty of pigmented black shades
