Soft Neutrals

This is my current favorite neutral eye look.  It is an easy and quick eye look, with a bronzed glow to the skin.  Perfect for transitioning into summer.

Priming the skin is very important to help your makeup go on smoother and last all day.  My favorite is the Napoleon Perdis 'Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer'.  The Vitamin E and Chamomile Extract make it very hydrating and soothing, and it gives the skin a sort of "glow from within".  My go-to foundation/concealer is Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and MAC Pro Longwear Concealer.  The foundation is full coverage, but does not feel heavy and doesn't dry out my skin and the concealer covers any imperfections or dark circles perfectly with out creasing or settling into fine lines.

Now that the skin is evened out its time to move on to the eyes... To start off I used the Mac Painterly Paint Pot.  This helps to create a neutral base for the shadow, but also helps the shadow last throughout the day.  I used a brown shimmery shade from the Heat Wave Palette all over the lid, and then mixed the warm brown matte shade, also from the Heat Wave palette, with the 'Naked 2' shade from the Naked Basics palette to blend out the color in the crease.  Then using a pointed eyeliner brush I used the Napoleon Perdis China Doll Gel Eyeliner in 'Earth' around my eye and blended it out with the shade 'Faint' from the Naked Basics palette.

I'm a big fan of mixing mascaras together to get the perfect look.  I have been trying out a sample of the new Marc Jacobs 'Lash Lifter Gel Definition' mascara.  So far, I like the brush but I'm not 100% sold on the formula.  I also used the Tarte 'Lights, Camera, Lashes' and the Ulta 'Lash Icon' mascaras.  These mascaras are great for lengthening and volumizing the lashes.

I wanted to pair this eye look with a simple bronzed look on the cheeks.  I used the Too Faced 'Milk Chocolate Soleil' Bronzer to create a soft contour around the face.  On the cheeks I used a combination of Nars 'Deep Throat' blush and MAC 'Warm Soul' mineralize blush.

I wanted the lips to be a gloss neutral pink.  To achieve this color I mixed two shades of lip gloss a pink lip creme from NYX and a nude Lip Lacquer from Rimmel.
