This spring Urban Decay released the Electric Pressed Pigment Palette.
I was on the fence about purchasing this palette, until I got it home and started playing with it. As someone who usually sticks to neutral, classic colors this palette is very out of my comfort zone. As spring and summer approach I love the idea of adding a pop of color into my everyday makeup routine. Although I doubt I will rock bright pink eyeliner to my day job, I have been loving these colors for special occasions and the weekends.
This palette is packaged in a sleek, bright plastic case with a magnetic closure. Inside are 10 of the most vivid and bright pressed pigments, 5 matte shades and 5 metallic/shimmer shades. The best part of pressed pigments is that they can do more than standard eye shadows. Not only do they deliver intense color payoff on the eyes, but they can also be used in your hair, they can be mixed with lip gloss, and used on the cheeks.
My favorite colors include:
- Fringe - a metallic teal
- Chaos - bright electric blue matte with a light sheen
- Savage - hot pink matte
- Revolt - metallic silver shimmer (by far the most wearable!)
I highly recommend this palette for anyone who is looking to add a pop of color to their makeup! A super easy way to use these colors is to start with a natural eye and add your favorite shade as a bright eyeliner under the eye. Below I used the shade Fringe under my eye.
This palette is $49, which may seem steep, but when you think about the break down, it comes out to be about $5 a pigment (and you get the brush!). Overall, I think this palette is amazing and if you are looking for some versatile bright colors it is definitely worth the price.
