Tarte Bon Voyage Collector's Set - Holidays 2014

Tarte always manages to have some of the best holiday gift sets, and this year was no different.  The Bon Voyage Collector's Set, is meant to resemble luggage and have a classic Parisian feel.

I like the Parisian pattern, but not necessarily the purple, light blue, and gold colors.  Luckily the products inside make up for the questionable packaging.  It contains an eye shadow palette, lip crayon, lip gloss, mini mascara, mini cheek stain, mini maracuja oil, and a mini setting powder.

Top Row (L to R): Palace Of Versaille, Moulin Rouge, I Think I Cannes, My Own Cotes De Rhone, and Boudoir Noir

Second Row (L to R): Fall In Louvre, Provence Upon A Time, Eiffel For You, Too Haute To Handle, and Bastille In The Night

Third Row (L to R): Chantilly Lace, Merci You Later, No Champagne, No Gain, Take On Bordeaux, and French Riviera

Bottom Row (L to R): Chantilly Lace, Merci You Later, No Champagne, No Gain, Take On Bordeaux, and French Riviera

I absolutely LOVE these eye shadows! They are all so pigmented and smooth.  The color range is amazing as well, there are some dark and bold colors, as well as plenty of basic neutral shades.  I also love that there are plenty of matte shades.  Many palettes, especially around the holidays, go for the glitter and shimmery colors.  Now don't get me wrong I love some sparkle, but no matter how glittery you want your eye look, you really do need a matte shade to blend everything out and make it look flawless.

iI am also a fan of all full size lippies, and other mini goodies in this set.  Both the lip crayon, in Romantic, and the gloss, in Visionary, have a touch of a minty scent to them and are in a great neutral color.  The Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara has been one of my all time favorites forever, and I have probably gone through about 5 of the full size ones.  The cheek stain, in Muse, gives a beautiful light wash of color, with a gorgeous glow.  It looks like a bit much in the swatch, but it can be blended with the fingers to make it more subtle.

The maracuja oil is a great all purpose beauty product.  I use it as a moisturizer at night for some extra TLC for my dry skin, but it can also be used for dry lips, cuticles, or hair.  And finally Smooth Operator, which is a translucent finishing powder, helps to keep all of your makeup in place and reduce shine.

At $59, this set is a bit on the higher end of the scale, but it is so worth it, the eye shadows alone are worth that much!  This set is the perfect gift for any makeup lover or beginner on your Christmas list.  The little minis that are included also make great stocking fillers!
